DRIVE C2X premieres two cooperative driving films
The DRIVE C2X consortium is pleased to announce the creation of two short films depicting the benefits of cooperative driving in an entertaining fashion. The first, 90-second film uses real actors and a humorous, fictional "road movie" storyline to present how C2X makes driving safer, more comfortable, and environmentally friendlier – Europe-wide.
The second movie, a 3-minute animation, focuses on the DRIVE C2X functions: it shows how traffic participants communicate via C2X to avoid accidents, warn each others of obstacles and bad weather, and approach traffic lights at the right speed for a green light. By communicating and being informed about potentially hazardous traffic situations, both the traffic participants and the environment benefit. Thanks to the international focus of the project, DRIVE C2X becomes the European reference for cooperative driving.
Both films target a general audience and can be viewed without any prior knowledge of cooperative driving. While the short film focuses on the benefits to the user, the animation also gives a survey of some of the functions developed in DRIVE C2X and their impact on traffic as a whole. Both films stress the European aspect of the project.
Both films can be viewed online via Vimeo and can also be downloaded. We invite our project partners and the cooperative driving community to use these films to bring the vision of cooperative driving to a wider audience.
